Pencil Skirts: A Statement Piece

En el post de hoy os enseñaré tres outfits combinando la falda de tubo, una prenda atemporal que está muy de moda ahora.

Un clásico introducido por Christian Dior a finales de 1940 que compitió con las faldas de vuelo en los años 50. Su popularidad vino de la mano del uniforme de oficina de las secretarias hasta convertirse en una de las prendas estrella en todas las pasarelas.

Hoy la falda de tubo no es una imposición, sino una elección. Las podemos encontrar de todos los colores, estampados, con tachuelas… Una prenda elegante y sobria, que resalta la figura y nos permite crear un look muy lady.

In today´s post I´m showing you three outfits combining the pencil skirt, a timeless piece   that´s very trendy at the moment.

A classic piece that Christian Dior introduced in 1940 and that competed with flowy skirts during the 50s. It became popular when secretaries started using it as their uniform. Afterwards, it turn to be the key piece in every single catwalk.

Today the pencil skirt is not an imposition but an election.  We can find them in a lot of colors, with different patterns, studded… A fancy and sophisticated piece that shows off our figures and allows us to create that lady look.

Este primer outfit se basa en la sencillez combinando colores neutrales y plataformas para romper la formalidad de la falda. Un look perfecto para salir a tomar algo con las amigas. Cómodo y chic al mismo tiempo.

This first outfit is based on simplicity using neutral colors and platforms to break up with the formal look of the skirt. The perfect look for going out with the girlfriends. Comfy and chic at the same time.

Para el segundo outfit he utilizado un vestido de falda de tubo que llama la atención por sí solo por su estampado tribal. Utilizo pocos complementos para que sea el vestido el protagonista del look. Añadimos unas sandalias en tonos flúor para alegrar el outfit y una cartera negra básica y sencilla.

For this second outfit I´ve used a pencil skirt dress that catches all the attention because of the aztec print. I haven´t used any accessories because I want the dress to focus all the attention. Then, we add a pair of fluor sandals to bright up the outfit and a basic clutch.

En este último outfit he creado un look más informal con la falda de tubo. Por ello, he escogido una falda en un tono verde flúor que fuese más divertida y la he combinado con unas sandalias flatform, muy cómodas para el día a día. Combinando la falda con un crop top como este conseguimos un look más juvenil y casual.

For this last outfit I´ve gone for a more informal look with the pencil skirt. That´s why I´ve chosen a neon green skirt that´s more fun and I´ve combined it with a pair of comfy flatforms. Adding a crop top puts the outfit together and makes it more casual and cute.
